Active Chapter Pursues Academic, Philanthropic Excellence in New Chapter House T he fall semester is in full swing in Columbia, and I am proud to say that the active chapter of Zeta Phi is continuing the Beta legacy. Whether it is in academics, intramurals, or philanthropic activities, our beloved chapter is producing at an extremely high level. Our most important mission in college is to excel academically, and I am happy to report that we are pursuing excellence in this endeavor. With the group study rooms and auditorium in our new chapter house, we have a nicer place than ever to study. With these new amenities, we hope to exceed last semester's chapter GPA of 3.287, which was best on campus. Our brothers also excel outside of the academic realm. We have numerous leaders in campus activities and around the community. Our service chairman, Garrett Bakke '14, has set up numerous opportunities for our members to get involved in our community. We had a successful service activity where a number of our members worked with Ronald McDonald House and their annual bike race in Columbia. We are again partnering with Boys and Girls Club of Columbia. On October 24, we had around 40 children from the club visit the fraternity house and carve pumpkins. For the Christmas season, we will be partnering with the club again to make gingerbread houses and go caroling. I will conclude my remarks by saying thank you. The chapter house dedication was a remarkable event. What an amazing turnout it was. I feel safe in saying that there has never been a fraternity event like that around the world. We have a special place to call home at Tigers on Wall Street: Clay Finley '14, Jake Maxwell '15, Alex Gavin '14, and Pat Williams '14 at the New York Stock Exchange. 520 College. It is a testament to our history, and the active chapter is dedicated to building upon our storied past. Thank you so much for your loyal support. In _kai_, Christopher B.
