T here is hardly a day that goes by that Bruce Moore '82 and his wife, Karen Bell Moore '82, aren't reminded of their strong Sigma Chi roots. Karen's paternal grandfather, Robert Henry Bell Sr., Vanderbilt University '23, and uncle, Robert Henry Bell Jr., Vanderbilt University '42, gave her a good understanding of what Sigma Chi was all about. Nearly 100 years aer Robert Sr. was initiated, Karen and Bruce have enjoyed seeing how Sigma Chi has developed their sons, Tyler Moore '10 and Mitchell Moore '16, and nephews, Davis Rolfe '17, Nicholas Rolfe '19, and Richard Rolfe '20, into values-based leaders who are committed to the betterment of character, campus, and community. Karen's twin sister, Sperry, married Heber Simmons III '84, and her stepbrothers, John Rolfe '86, Dick Setting Up Sigma Chi for Long-term Success at Ole Miss Karen and Bruce Moore Share Favorite Sigma Chi Memories, Why They Gave to Eta's Building on a Tradition of Excellence Campaign James E. Karen and Bruce are thankful for everything Sigma Chi has given their family and they want to ensure that Eta will always provide an environment for young men to excel through friendship, justice, and learning. ey recently showed their lifelong loyalty to Sigma Chi by generously contributing to Eta's Building on a Tradition of Excellence capital campaign. "Over the years, as our campus changes, the Sigma Chi house did small aesthetic renovations, but never really made the sleeping quarters of the house up to speed. I was amazed how much it hadn't changed the last time I walked through the house," Karen said. "It is past time to remedy the house both in upgrades Mitchell Moore '16 and Tyler Moore '10 with their father, Bruce Moore '82. (Continued on back) and security. We applaud the movement to start this process and are happy to support these efforts for future men to enjoy their time as Sigma Chis." ere was never a dull moment during Bruce's time as an Eta undergraduate member. Along with sharing his Sigma Chi experience with Karen, who was a Sigma Chi Little Sister and Sweetheart, Bruce has many great memories of an inner club he formed with Barney Hammond '83, Steve McDavid '83, Ken Crites '82, Doug McDaniel '82, Bill Smallwood '84, Frank York '82, and honorary sweetheart Melanie Hixon called the is Ain't No Garden Club.
