Kobe the Corgi found his forever home
right before the pandemic, which made him a
little spoiled! A Welsh Corgi, he was adopted
from a Corgi breeder in Cave Springs. After
the middle of March, his family was home with
him every day, and he expects (and demands!)
his daily walk. Kobe—named by Beckham C. of
Fayetteville after basketball star Kobe Bryant—
didn't have the energy for long walks and
needed lots of breaks as a baby. Now,
he plays basketball with Beckham, and
is ready for long walks several times
a day, if someone will take him! He's
also ready to go any time someone
leaves in the car! There, he sticks his
head out the window and loves being
offered "pupcups" at Starbucks.
Kobe also loves his abundance of
toys, and begs his family to play fetch
with him even inside, if they can't take him
out. Now over a year old, Kobe has tons of
energy and loves his people – all people - and
any attention he can get!

Also, those detergents can build up in
streams and kill fish and their eggs. The
phosphates from soap can also cause
excess algae to grow in our waterways,
making water cloudy, smelly and
unpleasant for swimming, boating, fishing
or drinking.
• Sweep grass clippings out of street
gutters after mowing. Leaves and grass
clippings end up in waterways through
our storm drain system. They give off
unwanted nutrients like nitrogen and
phosphorous, causing uncontrolled
growth of algae and aquatic weeds in the
waterways.
• Make a compost bin or pile from yard
waste.
• Drink water instead of soda, juice
and sugary beverages. (We threw that
one in for your good health!)
You can find all the information and
activities mentioned here plus videos,
lessons, and so much more by going
to the Beaver Water District website:

about water, too, and remember, water
is your best friend for life. Here's a great
slogan you can share: "No Water. No
Life. No Blue. No Green."
