Ms. Beaver joined FYP and quickly volunteered to head the social committee, which is charged with planning FYP’s social events. Ms. Beaver and other members of the social committee successfully coordinated this year’s past events, which included an outing to the Stoneybrook Steeplechase, a Fayetteville After Five concert, a FYP FireAntz Tailgate, a Holiday Social and the FYP launch party and Annual Membership Party. “Jenny joined the social committee with a drive to meet new people and create an atmosphere of fun,” said Kirk deViere, outgoing FYP Chair. “We are so excited to have young professionals like Jenny representing Fayetteville and bringing other young professionals together.” “I have thoroughly enjoyed being the FYP Social Chair this past year. The op- portunity to plan events that will attract a younger base has been both challenging and rewarding,” said Ms. Beaver. “I am so honored to have been named the FYP Vol- unteer of the Year, but planning successful social events throughout our fi rst year is the result of a true team effort by our entire 2010 social committee. To these people, I owe much thanks! The Fayetteville Young Professionals (FYP) is a membership division of the Fayetteville-Cum- berland County Chamber of Commerce, designed to provide opportunities for young professionals to develop the skills they need to succeed in their chosen profession or occupation. Events will consist of both networking socials and training events, designed to enhance both personal and professional development. The mission of the FYP is to create a network of young professionals in the greater Fayetteville area that fosters personal and professional development through relation- ship building, skill enhancement, community enrichment, and career advancement opportunities.
