isters, it has been a long time coming, but I
am happy announce that December 1 was our
target date for beginning our project and we have
successfully adhered to that schedule. Preparing for
a large project is sometimes more difficult than the
actual process… lots of details and planning and
moving. We have jumped through the hoops provided
by the university, skated around the COVID-19
problem, and have even fulfilled all that Phi Mu
national required. WE ARE TIRED. It's time to let
others do the hard work of construction. Below are the
improvements to be made and how we plan to
achieve these:
TO DO
o Add 16,000 sq. ft. to existing house.
o Expand the Chapter room.
o Add a more formal living area.
o Add four single rooms.
o Add one meeting room to the second floor and
keep a portion of the balcony.
o Finish and expand the third floor to include areas
for painting signs, storage, meetings, and studying.
OUR PLAN
• Meals will not be interrupted by the renovation as
the entrance to dining room and pickup is through
the back door.
• The completion date for the first two floors
is August 2021. We hope the third floor will be
completed by then as well.
The COVID-19 pandemic has been especially
challenging for our staff and I know the active sisters
are struggling to feel like a cohesive unit as well.
Our priority has been to keep all staff and members
safe. There is light at the end of the tunnel as our
active sisters excitedly await the Chapter House
improvements and time to be together again.
It is through dedicated alumnae and a loving
sisterhood that we have reached this scheduled
renovation goal, and it will be through us once again
that we welcome our active sisters home. Let us
look to 2021 with hopes and dreams of a beautifully
renovated house filled with smiling, enthusiastic
sisters ready to begin a healthy fall season. Happy
New Year and stay well.
