But one aspect of bar service got lost in the evolution—speed. We've all been there: "Hi, two daiquiris, one whiskey sour, and what's that drink called that they say takes eight minutes to make? Yeah, cool, one of those too," says the guest. And, boom, you're playing catch-up for the next half-hour. By batching your cocktails, you not only increase speed but also ensure consistency and lower costs. Take the Negroni, for instance: The standard recipe is one part gin to one part Campari to one part sweet vermouth, so batching it is as easy as mixing together one bottle of each ingredient. Using formulas like this will make your ordering system more efficient, as you can visually estimate how many cocktails you have available at any given time and turn your three-bottle grab into one. Simplifying your high-volume cocktails, speeding up your service, controlling your inventory, and lowering your costs while likely getting better tips? It's a win-win! —Sean Riley Key Account Specialist, Central Coast
