Higareda and father-and-son distillers Rosendo Ramirez Gamino and Rosendo Ramirez Falcon joined forces to launch DesMaDre Tequila out of a shared passion for delivering a high-quality, unaged blanco tequila. DesMaDre distinguishes itself as an exceptional brand by showcasing the natural flavors and aromas of the famous Blue Weber agave of Jalisco's Los Altos region (its Norma Oficial Mexicana number, which denotes that a given bottle was produced authentically in Mexico, is NOM1519). Harvested at a minimum of seven years, slow-cooked with the Ramirezes' own natural spring well water, double- distilled, and chill-filtered, this agave is the heart and soul of DesMaDre's Unaged Blanco—which in turn serves as the base for its Reposado and Añejo expressions, suffusing them with its complex essences. While the clean and smooth Blanco offers notes of pear and white pepper that accent the flavor of the agave, the Reposado possesses a nutty, spicy character balanced by hints of vanilla imparted by eight months of aging in bourbon barrels. The Añejo, meanwhile, spends 15 months in bourbon barrels before it's finished in Sauternes casks, where it develops a rich, spice-laced profile of vanilla, toffee, and chocolate.
