The world at your feet
The colorful sights of the annual International Folk Festival are a fall treat in Fayetteville. On the last weekend in September, downtown Fayetteville is transformed into an international cafe and stage. It begins with Fourth Friday, continues with a Parade of Nations on Saturday and ends with a bang on Sunday in Festival Park, which will be full of food, music and more. The festival is sponsored by the Arts Council of Fayetteville/ Cumberland County. Visit www.theartscouncil.com for a full listing of events.

With 14 screens, it runs a close second to Cumberland County’s largest movie house but it’s sure to impress with wide columns, stadium seating and fancy features like electronic-ticket buying and butter- dispensing machines.
