City slickers go elsewhere because this small town on the outskirts of Fayetteville puts stock in open spaces. You’ll see more pastures than stoplights here, and that’s the way townsfolk like it; they incorporated in 2007 to preserve the community spirit. Heritage Day, a celebration of the town and its past is held each spring with crafts, exhibits, entertainment and
food. The Eastover Community Center is a gathering spot, and the old school in the center of town has been transformed into
a pediatrician’s office. Golfers converge on the Baywood golf course, also home to some of Cumberland County’s most upscale houses. But then, gracious farmhouses abound, too. You might even catch sight of a million-dollar home.
