BY MICHELLE WILSON Before the world was turned upside-down due to a pandemic, there were many other serious times of struggle in our history but if one family could have survived it all, it would have been the one that hailed from Walton's Mountain. "The Waltons," airing weekdays on MeTV, revisits the highs and lows of the the titled family – grandparents, parents and seven children – all living together in rural Virginia in the time period of 1933-1946. It was then the family faced the many serious challenges of living during the Great Depression and World War II. John Walton (Ralph Waite) was an extremely hard worker, trying to provide for his family in any honest way possible while Olivia (Michael Learned) kept the household running as best she could with the resources available. The show was based the real-life seven siblings of Earl Hamner, who also served as series creator and narrator for the series. The show ran for nine seasons from 1972-1981, picking up many awards along the way, and numerous reunion movies followed. The show continues to entertain new generations of audiences to this day and reminds all of us that hard work, family and lots of love can weather anything life throws our way. Family bonds were stronger than hardships for 'The Waltons' "Everyone Is Doing Great" "One Tree Hill" alums James Lafferty and Stephen Colletti are the creative forces behind this comedy series that casts them as Jeremy and Seth, the former stars of a vampire TV drama, who must adjust to life and love in a delayed coming of age. Alexandra Park, Cariba Heine and Karissa Staples also star. (ORIGINAL) "Movie: One Night in Miami" Regina King directed this 1964-set drama in which a young Cassius Clay, who had just defeated Sonny Liston in Miami Beach for the heavyweight championship, is forced to leave the island and the ensuing celebrations due to the Jim Crow laws of the time. Instead, he stays in a historically black neighborhood with three of his closest friends: activist Malcolm X, singer Sam Cooke and football star Jim Brown. (ORIGINAL) "Night Stalker: The Hunt for a Serial Killer" From June 1984 to August 1985, Richard Ramirez terrorized the citizens of San Francisco and Los Angeles with his tracking and slaying of his victims, a methodology for which he became known as "the Night Stalker." This true-crime documentary series tells the story of his reign of terror and how two detectives wouldn't rest until they caught him. (ORIGINAL) "WandaVision" (Jan. 15, Disney+) Marvel Cinematic Universe's Wanda Maximoff and Vision are at the center of this action series, which catches up with the characters (played by Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany) as they're living in idealized lives in suburbia but suspecting all may not be what it seems.
