Despite being moved around the sched- ule a bit, and even being off the air for a while during election season, the show hung in well in its linear ratings ... and also got a significant boost from being watched via post-broadcast dig- ital viewing, which is now a big factor in whether a show gets renewed. There was no question "Transplant" would have a sec- ond season north of the border, and now it will in the U.S., too. Q : Is "A Million Little Things" actually filmed in Boston? — Mike Wade, Attle- boro, Mass. A : Location work for certain scenes has been done in Massachusetts for the ABC dra- ma, now in its third season, but its main production base is Van- couver. There's surely much less back-and-forth by cast and crew members for the show's current round because of the coronavi- rus pandemic, but the producers and writers can be creative by inserting generic footage that was filmed in Boston previously. The program performed respectably enough in the ratings, going up against such juggernauts as Fox's "Thursday Night Football" and ABC's "Grey's Anatomy." (The CBS lineup, mainly made up of sitcoms, was mostly re- peats that night.) Beyond that, "One Night Only: The Best of Broadway" was a benefit for Broadway Cares, an organization lending various forms of support to stage employees who have been out of work during the coronavirus pandemic. Also, the show was a reminder of the vitality and significance of live theater — and there have been a lot more theatrical shows than the two-hour NBC offering was able to feature, so there's a vast amount of material that can be drawn upon for another edition. Q : I was sorry to see that Abby Dalton died.
