Phi Sigma Kappa 3 Fall Semester Features Successful Virtual Recruitment Delta Triton Delivers on Adhering to Strict COVID-19 Prevention Protocols T he fall semester was a difficult test for Delta Triton and everyone at Purdue, but we remained strong amid the various challenges we were presented with. The incredible work of Recruitment Chairman Aedan Frazier '22 helped us initiate 15 new members into our brotherhood. Aedan and his committee did a great job adapting to an online recruitment format. New Recruitment Chairman Jackson Arnett '23 is ready to build on the momentum after learning from the groundwork that was laid by Aedan and his team. Due to COVID-19 prevention protocols, associates have to sign in to enter the house, all brothers are required to wear masks when in the house, and campus has been a lot less lively. However, Inductor Ethan Archer '22 has still created an atmosphere where our new members feel like they are part of the chapter. Purdue has also done an amazing job to combat COVID-19 while still giving the students a college experience. Several other Greek organizations on campus have had trouble following the strict COVID-19 guidelines, but Delta Triton has been largely successful. The executive board and our COVID-19 committee followed Purdue's lead by establishing stern safety protocols for the chapter. I'm proud of all my brothers for how they've adhered to these new normals and still made it an enjoyable semester. We closed the semester by celebrating our two graduating seniors, Nathan Cowin '20 and Matthew Gryzlo '20. They have both done a lot for Delta Triton and set great examples for their brothers. Nathan is kind and caring and has always been there for a brother who needs to talk. He didn't hold a position in the chapter, but helped in more ways than he realizes. Matthew was our public relations chairman for two years. He also played a large part in bringing associates into the house, starting traditions like weekly 50 cent wing nights and educating them on Delta Triton's history. Nathan and Matthew will be dearly missed and will be given third degree through ritual when times are safer to do so. Fraternally, Chirag Vijay '22 Chapter President W e are extremely proud of Logan Boyer '21 on winning the Wenderoth Scholarship. The Phi Sigma Kappa Foundation created the Wenderoth Scholarship in honor of the late benefactor, Ernest Wenderoth, George Washington '08, and is available to sophomores and juniors on the basis of academic criteria and an essay competition. Logan served as Delta Triton's alumni relations chairman. "I am incredibly honored to receive the Wenderoth Scholarship on behalf of the trustees of Phi Sigma Kappa Foundation. I will use the scholarship to fund my bachelor of science degrees in virtual product integration and psychology with a certificate in entrepreneurship and innovation," Logan said. "I am also involved with academic research on perceptual illusions and cognitive performance. Phi Sigma Kappa has been a place where I can be the best version of myself and a great brother. I am extremely grateful for all of the brothers I have met, bonds that I've formed over the years, and for the opportunities Phi Sigma Kappa has given me."
