2A Daily News – Tuesday, May 21, 2013 Community people&events Search for Talent winner Courtesy photo Red Bluff youth Lynsey Forsberg, Primary Division, Mitchell Sauve, Junior Division, and Riley Palmer, Senior Division, won the 7th annual Red Bluff Exchange Club Search for Talent Feb. 16. This provided them each with the opportunity to go to Oroville on May 4 to compete in the Sierra Division of the Exchange Club Search for Talent. This regional division had the best of the best. Winners from four divisions gathered to compete for the title. There were dancers, pianists, violinists and singers. Sauve was the winner of the Junior division with his acapella version of "The Man Who Can't Be Moved" by the Script. The performance is on YouTube titled "Mitchell Sauve – The Man Who can't be moved." Jessica Quintana You Matter Being a mother is a glorious opportunity. The first time you hold your child you are filled with such intense joy and you realize you have never felt that kind of love in your life before. Over time, the feelings grow and as you reach new milestones with your child you expand your own capabilities. You start out by realizing that bodily fluids on your person aren't going to kill you. You realize that you can stay up late, wake up early and do anything you have to in order to be the best mother you can for your child. Sacrifice becomes your second nature and you would willingly jump in front of a car, train or bullet for your child. Jessica Quintana is the mother of an amazing special needs child. That in and of itself tells me she is a warrior. Special needs children require more care, attention, assistance and one to one time in order to get through the day. Mom's of special needs children are she-bears who have adapted their lifestyles to fit the needs of their cubs. They are awesome and amazing. When I met Jessica, the first thing that struck me about her was her glow. She radiates a light and energy that affects people around her. She is beautiful and kind and her heart is extraordinarily large. Listening to her gush about her love for her son and her desire to maxi- that inspires me. Fire Destroys Flournoy P.O. and Store Bldg. Word was received here this afternoon of a fire that completely destroyed the general merchandise store at Flournoy conduced by Mrs. S. Schuchart who also is postmistress there. She was suddenly awakened about midnight by the crackling flames which enveloped the building. She narrowly escaped with her life, as did other members of the family, from the burning structure, all being in night attire. — May 21, 1923 to understand how their Medicare benefits work.
