The 2020 Executive Board in front of the Chi Omega Fountain. T his year has been an unprecedented and unpredictable year, often filled with fear and uncertainty of the future. It is during these chaotic times that we have all looked for a sense of comfort and community. While this past school year has been wildly different than any of us could have imagined, the women of Lambda Chapter of Chi Omega have proven, day after day, that they are discouraged never. Despite the challenges faced, the women of Lambda have achieved success in many areas. The chapter received a GPA of 3.78 for the semester, with the All-Sorority Average and All-Women's Average being 3.64 and 3.56, respectively. Lambda Chapter was named as a Chapter of Excellence during the National Convention celebrating 125 years of Chi Omega. In August, our Chapter had the opportunity to participate in the University of Kansas' first ever virtual recruitment. Taking place entirely through Zoom, our women were faced with new challenges and experiences with connecting with potential new members virtually. Recruitment Chairwoman Kaley Ball '19 bravely led the Chapter in this new endeavor, bringing home a lovely pledge class of 69 new baby hooties! We were continually impressed by both Kaley and her recruitment team's ability to adapt to the new format with grace. Since recruitment, our new member educator, Mia Schloegel '19, has been hard at work to welcome our new members into our Chapter and guide them through Chi Omega's new membership education program. We are so excited to bring these women into the fullness of the Chi Omega experience! While this year has been unconventional, trying, and challenging in all aspects, it has been a great honor to serve this Chapter of truly outstanding women. I have been lucky enough to have been surrounded by our wonderful executive board, who have repeatedly inspired me to be a better leader, and Jennifer Mueller Alderdice, Kappa Alpha '91, whose love, dedication, and mentorship has been pivotal to this past year. Thank you to everyone who continues to support Chi Omega; we could not do it without you!
