ALPHA TAU OMEGA AT THE UNIVERSITY OF MISSOURI H FALL 2020 Taus Are Healthy and Safe Plans in Place at Chapter House to Mitigate Spread of COVID-19 W e trust that you are all safe and healthy during this pandemic. Much like the rest of the world, ATW has been adapting to this new environment. e Housing Corporation, Board of Trustees, House Director, and Chapter executives spent the summer preparing for the safe return of our brothers and new members considering the COVID-19 pandemic. Physical enhancements included limited dining room seating, kitchen/ service area reconfiguration, hand sanitizers, disinfectant wipe dispensers, enhanced deep cleaning, and additional weekly cleaning, plexiglass dividers in the shower and sink areas, and reconfiguration of both common and sleeping areas. In addition to the physical changes, the Chapter executives and Housing Corporation developed and adopted extensive COVID-19 guidelines that all brothers, new members, alumni, and guests are required to follow at all times. e Tau Hut opened in August with 74 brothers living in-house. To date, due to the physical changes and the outstanding cooperation from the brothers, we have not isolated nor quarantined any of the brothers. is semester has been hugely different from what all of us alumni experienced during our time at Mizzou. e Chapter has implemented limited social and brotherhood gatherings, video conferencing for all executive and Chapter meetings, and the cancellation of traditional house events (no Dad's Weekend, no Homecoming events, no Cornjigger) until deemed safe. We are extremely proud of the leadership that Worthy Master Alex Sahli '19 and the Chapter executives have exhibited. e participation of all of our brothers in their efforts to stay healthy and keep the House safe from the spread of COVID-19 has been outstanding. House Director Beverly "Miz B" Warford has been instrumental in assisting the brothers in both day-to-day activities and identifying future opportunities to ensure a safe environment for all. is semester has been truly unique for everyone involved. We believe that the preparation and outstanding cooperation from all of the brothers has strengthened the overall standing of the House and provides a strong foundation for growth. ey continue to reengage with their brothers, as well as build brotherhood with all of our new members. We are very proud of how our young men have handled themselves during these difficult times.
