By the time you read this, the exces- sive campaign ads will no longer be fi lling the airwaves and social me- dia, well at least for a while. Elec- tion Day is over for this year, yea! How we respond to the results of this election is up to each and ev- ery one of us. No matter who wins, there will be lots of folks who are going to be very disappointed. How are we going to react? I know we can get caught up in uncertainty very quickly. I'm fully aware that our world is fi lled with crazy emotions; anger, frustration and fear. But focusing on those emotions breeds more of the same. However, Gratitude and Peace of Mind can actually breed more of the same feelings, too...just sayin'! Gratitude is actually a shortcut to fi nding peace of mind. There's al- ways going to be something to be angry or sad about, but if we let it run our lives, we lose out on all the joy of being alive! Count your bless- ings, enjoy family and friends, and share your bounty with others. If you're having a hard time fi nding gratitude this week, just start a list with, maybe, 10 toes, 10 fi ngers, 2 eyes, 2 feet, 2 hands, kindness of strangers, having a few coins in your pocket, and go from there. It is really pretty simple. And don't forget to breathe deep to help calm those emotions rising up. Quartzsite is a quirky place with all our visitors returning. There are so many new faces in town. Let us welcome everyone, even if they voted for someone else. Remem- ber, we are all in this together, even here in Quirky Quartzsite. Friends, foes, neighbors, relatives, strang- ers, people with various shades of skin color or even hair coloring. We can be grateful for us all. Now, get out there and share your gratitude with others. Remember, focus on the journey, not the des- tination. Well, that's my story, and I'm sticking to it. Hope you're hav- ing an awesome day! "You could Be Anywhere, Doing Anything, and You are Here Doing This, Thank You" ~ Robert Greygrass (thank you from me too!) Feeling gratitude and not expressing it is like wrapping a present and not giving it. ~ William Arthur Ward QIA Craft Faire & Yard Sale starts Sat.
