espite these crazy times, the Tri
Delta family is thrilled to be
back together this fall. While
the changes haven't been easy, sisters
have adjusted very well to each and
every challenge. We were glad to see our
dedication to our studies pay off in spring,
as Delta Mu overcame the sudden shift to
virtual learning and finished the semester
with a cumulative 3.86 GPA.
It's nice to have sisters to study with in
the Tri Delta House again, especially with
many classes still being taught virtually.
We have developed a COVID-19 response
team to make decisions that best reflect
the overall health and safety of our
Chapter. Social gatherings and events have
been reduced to much smaller numbers to
allow for proper social distancing, Zoom
has become an essential, and masks have
become our best friends.
Even with these adjustments, we are
having a fulfilling year. We succeeded in
welcoming 113 new members during a
recruitment that was 100% virtual. We've
hosted several virtual sisterhood events,
celebrated the first day of classes, initiated
our new members, gone to football
games, and so much more. We are still
proudly supporting our philanthropy, St.
Jude Children's Research Hospital and
have come up with creative new ways to
fundraise.
Our members are still serving as leaders
on campus. Several sisters are in a variety
of clubs, including Student Government
Association, Panhellenic Executive
Council, and intramural sports. We are
excited to mentor and engage with our
new members in different activities and
see them flourish as leaders on campus.
In these hard times, it has been rewarding
to see the perseverance of these brave,
bold, and kind women. This semester
has certainly shown the resilience of our
chapter and has brought us closer than we
could have ever imagined. We are thankful
to safely come together and adapt to our
new normal.
