Around 11 p.m. Friday 23year-old Fabian Valdovinos walked into his former girlfriend's residence on Kimball Road, according to a Red Bluff Police Department press release. When the woman reminded him of the restraining order she had against him, Valdovinos became angry and threatened to kill her and take their child to Mexico. Because of her history with Valdovinos, the woman took the threats seriously. Valdovinos remained at his former girlfriend's house throughout the weekend monitoring her every move. Around 12:30 p.m. Sunday the woman created a ruse to get out of the house and away from Valdovinos with her infant daughter. The woman immediately called the police for help. After speaking with the woman, Red Bluff police officers returned to the Kimball Road residence and found Valdovinos outside. Valdovinos resisted the officers' attempt to arrest him, but Downtown hits the streets Daily News photo by Chip Thompson eventually was taken into custody without incident. Valdovinos was booked at Tehama County Jail for false imprisonment, criminal threats, a restraining order violation and resisting arrest. His bail was set at $72,000 and an immigration hold was requested. Infant's death ruled suspicious The death of a 7-month-old infant Sunday afternoon has been deemed suspicious by nature by the Tehama County Sheriff's Department. Sheriff's deputies and Red Bluff police officers responded to 65 Byron Ave. around 2 p.m. Sunday for a medical call of an infant that was not breathing. Police officers performed CPR on the infant before Downtown Red Bluff hosted the Wellness Faire and Sidewalk Sale Saturday and, from left, Trinna Higgs, Colleen Harvey-Arrinson and Patty Tompkins were on site representing Fiber Arts Group.The group meets 5-8 p.m. the first Tuesday of each month at 220 Sycamore St. in Red Bluff, to weave, spin, knit, crochet, felt, quilt, embroider, needlepoint and do anything else having to do with fiber arts. See DEATH, page 7A Woman injured in RB altercation The Red Bluff Police Department is trying to piece together what happened during a disturbance Sunday evening near Shasta and Cascade avenues. Officers responded to the area around 6 p.m. and were told parties involved in a disturbance had fled the area in two separate vehicles, according to a department press release. About two hours later the department received a report of a 20-year-old woman in the emergency room at St. Elizabeth Community Hospital, who had been hit in the head with a rock. Upon arrival at the truck stop, Corning Police Officers spotted the subject leaving the area in a 2005 black Mercedes Benz 240, according to a press release from the department issued around 5 p.m. Friday. The woman, 53 and a Corning resident, stopped the car near the west side of Woodson Bridge State Park and officers detained her on a mental health hold. Dogs join hunt for Shasta triple homicide suspect PETROLIA (AP) โ Authorities hunting for a Northern California man suspected of killing of his wife and two young daughters have brought in dogs trained to search for cadavers. While investigators have said they have no indication Shane Franklin Miller may be dead, the canines are part of a larger search through California's rugged and remote North Coast terrain. More than 70 law enforcement officers from multiple jurisdictions are scouring the area for Miller, 45, suspected of killing his family last Tuesday in the rural community of Shingletown.
