Email: peter.n.peregrine@gmail.com T he fall 2020 semester has been an unprecedented experience for the Purdue University community and Sigma Phi Epsilon. We made several adjustments for the year as many Purdue functions are now virtual. Indiana Alpha Chapter has incorporated this approach into our operations as well. As we face new challenges with this ever-changing environment at Purdue, active brothers have maintained strong relationships and are focused on building this chapter. Recruitment for this year looks different for us, but our traditional approach stays the same. The Balanced Man Scholarship has been a fantastic way to reward the highest- achieving students at Purdue and meet potential new members. The scholarship is a great advantage to our recruiting goals despite the effects of COVID-19. Many group interactions with recruits have been conducted over web calls. Smaller interactions including a couple of members with one recruit have taken place in person. Overall, this approach has been successful as we have gained two outstanding new members and have a recruitment plan for the rest of the year to add more. Our goal of rebuilding this fraternity remains the same despite the challenges we face this semester. One of our immediate goals is to successfully conduct the Balanced Man Scholarship. To adapt with the times, we have switched the banquet to an online event so the most successful applicants can still be rewarded. We also aim to continue leading academically as the fraternity with the highest cumulative GPA at Purdue. Finally, I would like to thank those who have been supporting Indiana Alpha Chapter. Without support and mentorship from the AVC, National Headquarters, invested alumni, and all those who want to see Sigma Phi Epsilon succeed at Purdue again, we would not be where we are or where we plan on going.
