The lion's lore

A
s you can see from the photos on this
page, the chapter house has never looked
better! Eminent Archon Fischer Carr '22
provides the chapter update on page 1, which
tells us that we have much to be proud of as it
relates to the ongoing strong performance by
our undergraduate brothers. This fall, Kansas
Beta was named the top ΣΑΕ chapter in the
country by earning the Fraternity Zeal Award,
the highest award granted by ΣΑΕ National
each year.
In November 2019, we shared plans to renovate
and upgrade the exterior of the chapter house––
our way of better utilizing the exterior space and
bringing something new to Sigma Alpha Epsilon.
Our fraternity is not the only one that
understands upgrades and improvements must
be made to stay on top. PIKE, FarmHouse,
and DU recently completed renovations and
rebuilds to their facilities. While we each know
the quality of our membership, our chapter
house must up its curb appeal to keep our
competitive edge.
The $300,000 project went well beyond simply
redoing the basketball court; it was a full-scale
exterior renovation. These updates provide an
ample outside space for our undergraduates
in the current pandemic environment and will
serve as a communal space for parents and
alumni returning to campus.
Projects completed include:
• Repainted the exterior in historical colors
• Added outdoor cooking and gathering
space
• Revamped the landscaping and lighting
• Added a new outdoor basketball court
• Installed a new lawn irrigation system
Over the last several years, we have worked
aggressively to fill the chapter house with
quality men, significantly improve the
physical structure, and carefully manage our
finances.
Recruitment is a year-round activity and the
critical lifeblood of the chapter. If you are
aware of any potential new members, please
contact me or Recruitment Chairmen Justin
Tinkler '22 at jltinkler18@gmail.com or
(913) 439-7732 or Brett Tilton '22 at
brettmtilton@gmail.com or (913) 945-0249.
Thank you for your continued financial support.
I promise you the money is carefully managed
and invested in the future of Kansas Beta,
which is bright.
