MS Beta Post The Mississippi Beta Chapter of Pi Beta Phi at the University of Mississippi | Fall 2020 T he many memories we have shared at 642 Rebel Drive will always be a special part of our respective Mississippi Beta experiences. It is truly incredible to think about all the amazing things sisters have accomplished after running down the hill to our beloved chapter house. We all owe a great sense of gratitude to Mississippi Beta for allowing us to spread our angel wings and make a difference in the world. With Mississippi Beta's 60 th anniversary coming up in Fall 2022, we have a wonderful opportunity to make Pi Phi's presence felt at Ole Miss for the next 60 years and beyond. The Chapter House Corporation is pleased to formally announce the Always True to the Wine and Blue – 60 Years of Mississippi Beta Tradition capital campaign to renovate and expand our home at 642 Rebel Drive. We want to extend our sincere thanks to the alumnae and friends who have made early commitments to this chapter-altering project. More than $1.1 million has already been raised toward our $1.75 million goal. Campaign planning and fundraising officially began in Fall 2019. Several alumnae and friends chose to make their commitments this summer totaling more than $600,000 along with a generous intended gift of $500,000 over five years from the chapter; however, we know that the current environment makes the future of our chapter and our chapter's finances that much more uncertain. It's now more than ever that we need our alumnae support to help sustain Mississippi Beta's future for the next 60 years. As the collegians develop Sincere Friendships in Oxford, we must do our part to ensure Pi Phi is a premier sorority at Ole Miss. While the chapter house at 642 Rebel Drive has served as Mississippi Beta's home since the start, it is in dire need of improvements to accommodate the collegians and keep Pi Phi competitive with the sororities on campus which have recently renovated or built new chapter houses. For Mississippi Beta to thrive, we must keep our collegians and future members engaged. The major renovation and expansion will provide them plenty of space to hold chapter meetings, Initiation, study groups and much more. The live-in membership will increase from 40 to 60-70, strengthening the bonds of our sisterhood immensely. The collegians have embarked on a fall semester vastly different than anything we experienced. They need the support of Mississippi Beta's loyal alumnae right now, and a great way to show it is by donating to the campaign. Collegians and alumnae alike have a lot to look forward to next spring, as the groundbreaking for this project is scheduled for May 2021. It's time to show our Pi Phi Pride and push forward together this fall to ensure Mississippi Beta's next 60 years are better than ever.
