W e certainly have had an unconven onal year here at 1339 West Campus Road. Finishing up the spring semester posed many challenges as everyone adapted to the work from home structure that COVID-19 imposed on all. Fortunately, our members con nued to thrive in all areas! LABOR AND LEARNING In academics, we reported our highest-ever semes- ter GPA, 3.73, which placed us as the fourth-highest Panhellenic chapter in grades. The icing on the cake for the spring semester was being awarded Panhellenic Chapter of the Year by KU's Sorority and Fraternity Life office. This was especially encouraging for all members to receive during a par cularly chal- lenging year. LOVE AND LOYALTY As the summer progressed, our new member educa- tors worked hard to keep our new members engaged at home, as much of their me to get to know one another was cut short. From weekly new member mee ngs to each new member calling three sisters, as well as virtual Ne lix nights and FaceTime dinner and dessert dates, the sophomore class strengthened their sisterhood virtually from home. A STRONG SISTERHOOD A er a long summer "break" at home, we returned to campus to prepare for a fully virtual fall formal recruitment. Although this was a learning curve for all, Sigma persevered in recrui ng a new member class of 72 women! We are thrilled to get to know these young women as they adapt to their new col- lege classes and new home in Lawrence.
