Welcome to Xi good life! Bottom: The spring 2020 new member class. Welcome, sisters! W hat a whirlwind the spring semester turned out to be! It seemed like it was over before it really began. That being said, for the time we did have together we accomplished many things and had a lot of fun. We welcomed our fall 2019 pledge class to full sisterhood on January 18. It was also announced that we had the most improved GPA during the fall 2019 semester—an accomplishment of which we are most proud! SPRING UPDATES In February, our chapter hosted Area Wide Training, a day full of valuable learning for our new executive team. We hosted four other chapter executive teams at our house. It was a great opportunity to get to meet other sisters from around our area. We welcomed six new members to our sisterhood during spring recruitment. We were unable to hold their initiation due to COVID-19, but we hosted it during the first day of sisterhood week. We also placed second in the Annual Strollers Show and won the award for best banner. The theme was "Candyland" and the sisters involved had a great time working together to create a super fun show. NAVIGATING A NEW NORMAL March was when the real craziness began. We had spring break and then we were told that we could not return to campus. This was heartbreaking, especially for our senior class. We were unable to hold our new philanthropic event, Nacho Frenxi, as well as our spring formal, along with many other events. However, a pandemic doesn't stop us from being sisters! We still held chapter meetings and sisterhood events over Zoom. We were also able to hold the annual Corporation Board meeting over Zoom. We've very lucky to have such involved alumnae who keep this chapter near and dear to their hearts. GRATEFUL FOR ALPHA XI SISTERHOOD As we started summer, we were hopeful that we would all be back together in August, and we're grateful for that opportunity. We had another exciting recruitment, following COVID-19 safety protocols, and we are excited for another positive and accomplished semester this fall. We're thrilled to be back home and to welcome the next pledge class of sisters into Epsilon!
