If so, please respond to help fund community programs. For the fi rst time in history, the public will be able to complete the 2020 Census online or by phone, in addition to the traditional pa- per response form. Technology improvements over the last decade that allow for these secure response options also enable the public to respond without a Census Bureau- issued identifi cation number, mak- ing it easier for individuals such as renters, or seasonal residents to re- spond if they do not receive an invi- tation letter directly. Beginning mid-March, the U.S. Census Bureau began mailing infor- mational letters to all households detailing how to participate in the 2020 Census. If you do not receive a letter, or the letter is misplaced or lost, you will still be able to re- spond. How to Respond Without an ID Once the 2020 Census response website is activated, you will be able to select the link under the login button that says, "If you do not have a Census ID, click here." Visit 2020Census.gov. Is the Response Affected if a Census ID is Not Used? Your Census ID allows the Census Bureau to match your response to an address. If you respond without a Census ID, you will provide your address which will then be linked to your response. No Permanent Address? Seasonal Resident? No Problem. Everyone living or staying at a sin- gle address, even if they are not a member of your family, should be counted by the head of household fi lling out the census form for that property address. If you do not have a permanent address – such as those that live in campers or boats – you will be able to enter a city, state and zip code of where you are on April 1, 2020. Seasonal residents, or snowbirds, shall complete the form using the address where the most time is spent. If it is an even time split, complete the form for the address where you are living on April 1. To learn more visit 2020Census. gov to access the Response Link.
