Events online include a concert of French music on Sept. 3, a discussion of Lafayette and his support for the abolition of slaver y by Lafayette College his- torian Diane Shaw on Sept. 10, and a series of video ap- pearances by the Marquis himself on the Lafayette Trail throughout the month. SEPT. 11-NOV. 18 "Rembrandt: The Sign and the Light" Methodist University's David McCune International Art Galler y will feature "Rembrandt: The Sign and the Light," a selection of 59 Rembrandt etchings on a variety of subjects. SEPT. 18 Methodist University's Friends of Music Guest Artist Series Methodist University's 12th-annual Friends of Music Guest Artist Series will be offered remotely this year, with the first concert scheduled for Sept. 18 featuring gospel vocalist and actor Walter John- son. Johnson is a native of Greensboro and a graduate of North Carolina A&T. The other 2020-21 Featured Artists: Friday, Oct . 30 – Jazz vocalist Marcelle Gauvin, a recording artist and associ- ate professor of voice at Berklee College of Music in Boston. Friday, Jan. 22 , 2021 – Jesse Rackley, a trombon- ist, euphoniumist, director and music educator. He is based in Raleigh and performs with multiple symphony and orchestra groups throughout the state. Friday, Feb. 19, 2021 – Nathan Leyland is principal cellist of the Fayetteville Symphony Orchestra and performs across the nation as a chamber musician and recitalist. SEPT. 20 Boots to Roots: A Farm Tasting Boots to Roots: A Farm Tasting, an evening celebrating NC's Farmer- Veterans and their seasonal offerings, is scheduled from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Dirtbag Ales Brewer y and Taproom, at 5435 Corporation Drive in Hope Mills. The event is hosted by The Veteran's Farm of North Carolina, Inc. and Dirtbag Ales Farmer's Market.
