page 4 Collegians Adapt to Changes Brought About by COVID-19 Excitement Abounds for Fall Semester, Renovated Chapter House I am honored and excited to represent and lead Delta Xi. Each executive board member brings creative ideas to the table and strives to improve our chapter. They started working hard with planning this year's events, not knowing what the future would hold for the chapter and for everyone across the world. Although I wasn't planning to lead a chapter through a pandemic, Delta Xi is in great hands. The executive board is amazing and I am grateful to work alongside these women. CLC Delivers Great Experience for Delta Xi Before everything came to a halt, Ava Tracy '18, Lindsay Durdle '17, Clare Marie Kuebler '18, Gracie Schulte '17, and I went to Dallas, Texas, for Collegiate Leadership Conference. This was a great experience for our chapter leaders. We learned a lot, made many friendships with our sisters, and bonded even more as a group. We returned to the chapter inspired to serve our members with the new ideas and knowledge that we gained. Aspiring for Academic Excellence Delta Xi ended the 2019 fall semester with a cumulative GPA of 3.36. Director of Academic Excellence Mikayla Heilich '17 set a goal for the chapter to increase our overall cumulative GPA and assist sisters who need additional academic support by providing study hours and other resources. Staying Connected with St. Jude Our chapter wrapped up our annual letter writing campaign, Sincerely Yours, at the end of the fall semester. This is always a huge event for our chapter's fundraising efforts. At this event, members write letters to family and friends encouraging them to donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, our annual trip to St. Jude in Memphis, Tennessee, was canceled. However, Director of Philanthropy Clare Marie Kuebler '18 has worked alongside of our St. Jude representative to figure out ways that we can still support the kids virtually. In early April, we sent out virtual cards to the patients to show our support for them during this difficult time. We are looking forward to all our other philanthropy events to start back up in the fall. A Lot to Look Forward to at 901 Richmond Avenue Due to the pandemic, we decided to close the Chapter House at the end of March to ensure the health and safety of our members. That has made everyone that much more excited to return to 901 Richmond Avenue this fall to a newly renovated house. Our team worked diligently to plan our events for the fall and give our members something to look forward to. Our recruitment team put in countless hours to get everything set in stone for recruitment and we are excited to meet our PNMs. We also can't wait to have Homecoming Liaison Emma Travis '17 lead us through Homecoming 2020. The men of Delta Sigma Phi are our partners this year. Thank You, Alumnae! Although I am sad we couldn't host our annual Pansy Brunch for the spring 2020 seniors, we are grateful for everything they have done for our chapter and the legacy that they are leaving as Delta Xi members. Hopefully, we will see them in the fall when they visit the Chapter House again. I can't wait to see what the rest of this year has in store for us as a chapter. I'd like to thank all alumnae for your support for our chapter. I hope to see you at 901 Richmond Avenue in the near future.
