8 PREP RALLY: CLASS 7A | 8.30.2020 479.273.1355 1145 NW "J" St. Bentonville, AR 72712 Doug Parker, DVM Tammy Jones, DVM Stephanie Ensley, DVM Sara Keys, DVM Sugar Creek Animal Hospital He set up a touchdown in a playoff game against Little Rock Catholic when he stripped the ball from a player and recov- ered the loose ball. He also recovered a fumble and set up a critical touchdown in a game against Springdale Har-Ber. "It's definitely fun when he's rushing the quarterback," Joyce said. "When I'm running and going toward a receiver, and I take a glance, I can see the quarterback having to sprint out because Keegan is trying to track him down. "I trust him and know he's going to do his job. It's not like he's going to take a play off. When we are in passing situations, I know the other team's quarterback is not going to be back there very long when Keegan is rushing him." Their talents are not just limited to the defense. Stinespring recorded a blocked punt against Har-Ber, then Joyce did the same thing in the regular-season finale against Bentonville West. And both of them are used in the offen- sive backfield in short-yardage or goal-line situations. Joyce only had four carries last year, but three of them were for touch- downs. "Here's our philosophy on that," Grant said. "If we are in a short-yardage situation or we're needing to get a yard or two on third or fourth down, I would rather have those dudes out there than have them stand- ing by me on the sideline. So yeah, we've used them. "Cole had those touchdowns, and they weren't long runs — maybe a yard or so. Keegan's the same way. He can do the same thing, and both of them will lead block for our backs and open up holes big enough for me or you to run through. It would be crazy not to use them." The bond the two players share on the field is just as strong away from the grid- iron. One would expect the two seniors had "I trust him and know he's going to do his job. It's not like he's going to take a play off. When we are in passing situations, I know the other team's quarterback is not going to be back there very long when Keegan is rushing him." – Cole Joyce Bash Bros. n Continued from Page 7 NWA Democrat-Gazette photo | David Beach NWA Democrat-Gazette photo | Charlie Kaijo
