Chapter House Construction Underway W hile the pandemic has had a significant impact on our daily lives (and the lives of our undergraduate sisters, which you can read about more on pages 4-5), we know that the mission of Tri Delta and needs of Theta Gamma will prevail. Our Building on Excellence at 1611 College campaign is well underway, and we are grateful for our sisters who have made a contribution; however, we need the help of all Theta Gamma sisters if we're going to hit our ambitious $3,000,000 goal. Because of permitting issues with the City of Norman, we were not able to break ground on the new addition this summer. However, as with many things in our world today, there is always a silver lining! This has allowed us to move forward with many much-needed projects that do not require a city permit. We've also capitalized on the extended time our collegians have been out of the facility to complete many projects ahead of schedule. Below is an overview of the projects we've completed since April. • Replaced fire suppression system and installed new sprinklers in the chapter house • Updated fire alarm system and electrical panel • Relocated the air-conditioning units to the roof above the hall to the north wing • Ordered new study hall furniture All of these items are part of this campaign and required to be completed before we will be given an occupancy permit for the new addition. Additionally, although not technically part of our campaign, we made major improvements such as renovating the west bathroom and purchasing new Delta beach cushions. I hope you are encouraged by the progress we've made to date and by our growing list of loyal supporters. Our board recognizes this is a difficult time for many and knows there are countless organizations that need financial assistance right now; however, our hope is you will remember the countless blessings you received from Tri Delta. Today, perhaps more than ever, we need the love and support of our Tri Delta sisters. Let's lean on each other and come together to lift up our collegians through this campaign. Please join me today in paying it forward to the next generation of Delta women by making an investment in the future of 1611 College.
