BY JAY BOBBIN The "Star Trek" franchise keeps going, proven most recently by CBS All Access' addition of the animated show "Star Trek: Lower Decks" ... but for those devotees who remain most loyal to the original crew of the starship Enterprise, the initial feature films spun off from the first series keep that fandom intact, helped currently by Hulu's streaming of (among others) 1979's "Star Trek: The Motion Picture." In the hands of veteran director Robert Wise ("The Sound of Music"), the story pits the galaxy-hopping crew against a lethal form of artificial intelligence. Produced by "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry, the tale generally takes itself quite seriously, but there's still plenty of fun in seeing the cast members reunite – particularly when the famously unemotional Spock (Leonard Nimoy) steps back onto the bridge. Naturally, William Shatner, DeForest Kelley and George Takei are among other original stars back on board, too. Hulu is beaming up Sulu in 'Star Trek' movies "Movie: The Peanut Butter Falcon" This feel-good dramedy from co-writers and directors Tyler Nilson and Michael Schwartz grew from a quiet limited release into a genuine sleeper hit, eventually becoming the highest grossing indie film of 2019. Zack Gottsagen stars as a young man with Down syndrome who escapes from an assisted living facility to pursue his dream of becoming a professional wrestler. He quickly forms a tight bond with Tyler (Shia LaBeouf ), a wayward fisherman on the run. "Suits" The ninth and final season of this 2011- 19 drama about attorneys at a New York City law firm finds Robert Zane (Wendell Pierce) disbarred, Faye Richardson (Denise Crosby) sent to oversee the firm due to the perception of dirty dealings and Louis Litt and Sheila Sazs (Rick Hoffman, Rachael Harris) tying the knot, among other developments. Patrick J. Adams, Gabriel Macht and Sarah Rafferty also star. "The Rain" Season 3 of this Danish sci-fi drama picks up years after the rain has decimated the population of Scandinavia, with Simone (Alba August) and Rasmus (Lucas Lynggaard Tonnesen) at odds over how to save humanity, he wanting to infect everyone with the beta version of the virus that made him superhuman, while she would rather find a cure. (ORIGINAL) "The One and Only Ivan" (Aug. 14, Disney+) A silverback gorilla who shares a communal habitat in a suburban shopping mall with an elephant and a dog and has almost no memory of the jungle, begins to question his existence when a baby elephant arrives in this animated adventure tale.
