2 SIGMA PHI EPSILON D ue to the COVID-19 outbreak, Colorado School of Mines announced in March that the remaining five weeks of classes would be finished remotely and that all students must leave campus by March 30. Even though Colorado Delta Chapter is currently unable to meet in person, Zoom calls and virtual study sessions are still in place to maintain personal connections between members and to provide academic support during these difficult times. With all that is going on in these hard times, our Chapter remains optimistic for the future as we continue to support one another. We look for- ward to next semester and getting back on our feet. We want to thank all our loyal alumni for your sustained support and invite you to come by next semester to get to know the brothers. Over the course of the last few semesters, Colorado Delta has achieved greatness in our Balanced Man Program. At the 2020 Carlson Leadership Academy, our Chapter received the Academic Excellence Award for the highest GPA and remains among the top of all Greek organizations at the Colorado School of Mines with an outstanding 3.33 GPA. Beyond our ac- ademic success, over 70% of our members are involved in campus clubs and organizations. Curtis Harrison '21 is involved in many organizations, including the Maker Society, University Innovation Fellows, and the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation. On top of balancing all of these activities, he maintains a 4.0 GPA. Curtis' dedication to his activities, to his studies, and to his SigEp brothers makes Curtis an excellent example of a balanced man. Curtis was recognized at the Carlson Leadership Academy for his achievements and was award- ed the SigEp Tragos Quest to Greece. The Colorado Delta Chapter has partnered with Jefferson County Parks to help restore the Clear Creek Canyon Trail to its former beauty. Jef- ferson County is planning a celebration of their grand opening on National Public Lands Day on September 26, 2020. There will be food and drinks provided for around 800 people. Barry Lau '21 has impacted the community by gathering a group of SigEps for his Broth- er Mentor project to volunteer at the annual UllrGrass festival held in Downtown Golden. The Chapter was awarded the Official Frater- nity of UllrGrass for volunteering over the past five consecutive years. Join us next year for the 2021 UllrGrass festival on January 29. Homecoming 2019 was also a great success for Colorado Delta. Our Chapter partnered with the Pi Phi sorority during an outdoor social and created the winning Star Wars-themed float for the Homecoming parade. We also had an out- standing time at formal in Breckenridge where brothers shredded the ski slopes and took their dates into the town for crepes. Colorado Delta is eternally grateful to our gen- erous alumni for your support of our chapter. We look forward to seeing you all at our events in the fall and beyond!
