With your child, look
through the newspaper to
find pictures of things
that begin with the same
sound as the letter
R in robot.
Point to the number
3 in the newspaper.
Have your child say the
number and, if it's large
enough, have your child
trace the number.
Look at the pictures in
today's newspaper. With
your child, look for things
that have the shape of a
circle. For example, a face
could have the shape of a
circle. Have your child
trace each circle shape
you find and say the word
"circle" while tracing.
With your child, find
and circle an uppercase
letter R. Then, on the
same page, find and
circle a lowercase
letter r. Connect the
two with a line.
Make a shape book using
newspaper pictures.
Get three sheets of blank
paper. Glue a picture that
includes a circle shape on
one, a picture that includes
a square shape on the
second and a picture
that includes a triangle
shape on the third.
