I'm looking forward to a June & July filled
with fun and creative things to do.
Water Games on pages 6 & 7 are STEM
experiments which show how surface
tension works, how you can use a water
drop as a lens and a couple of magic tricks
with soap and water. Cool!
Summertime is the perfect time for
dinner by a campfire. Some say the
first chili mix was cooked up around a
campfire by Texan cowboys traveling
around 1850. Check out a chili recipe on
page 15 you can make with
your adult and maybe eat
in your backyard!
Sometimes, it's okay to play
with food! One great summer
activity is to make a pizza that
looks like a cat's face. Then
make a huge grape caterpillar.
Definitely going to get
creative in the kitchen.
For quiet time I'm going to learn how to
draw a butterfly & a hippo. Maybe I can
color one and give it to a friend as a card.
Reading about Mark Twain's classic Tom
Sawyer tale and the comical adventures
of Tom and Huck makes me want to read
that book. And I got a laugh out of Tom's
answer when asked to spell every state in
the union—check that out on page 8.
There's lots in this June & July edition
so set aside some time to read, enjoy and
have fun.
