OUR PAST 100 YEARS
A
s we reflect on our past 100 years of sisterhood, we celebrate the rich traditions that
have built Gamma Zeta since 1920. One piece of our history has remained consistent
from the start: our home at 1435 E. 2nd Street.
While the chapter house has seen many changes and updates in decades past, it was
2016 when the Gamma Zeta Building Association recognized the chapter had outgrown
the current space and our home no longer met the needs of our members. A tactical plan
was developed to conduct a major expansion and renovation to our home. The following
updates were completed in fall 2017.
A new state-of-the-art Chapter Room
Renovated officers' and house director suites
Expanded dorm rooms and ADA-compliant bathrooms
Renovated group study room and quiet study lounge
Updated TV room, storage space, and mailroom
Improved laundry facility
Updated sun porch and new balconies
Added ramps and elevators to make the house fully accessible
"Gamma Zeta has
given me a lifetime
of experiences
beginning in the
fall of 1972 when I
pledged. I am filled
with gratitude to my sisters who are
my support, inspiration and family.
My giving back with time and treasure
pays it forward to the next generation
who will begin their sisterhood
journey at 1435 E. Second St."
