"Taste the Nation With Padma Lakshmi" Award-winning cookbook author and presenter Padma Lakshmi ("Top Chef ") goes on a journey across the United States to explore the rich and diverse food cultures of various immigrant groups, seek out the people who have shaped what American food is today and get a handle on what it means to be American. (ORIGINAL) "Movie: Knives Out" Director Rian Johnson's ("Looper," "The Brothers Bloom") hugely entertaining 2019 comedy caper stars a game cast including Daniel Craig, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, Chris Evans and Christopher Plummer in this tale of a detective investigating the death of the patriarch of a family of eccentrics. The well-reviewed film garnered multiple awards but surprisingly only one Oscar nod — for best screenplay. "Movie: Father Soldier Son" From filmmakers Leslye Davis ("The Power of Gold") and Catrin Einhorn ("A Year at War") comes this 2020 documentary that follows the journey of Sgt. First Class Brian Eisch, who is critically wounded in Afghanistan, thus setting him and his sons on a path of love, loss, redemption and legacy. (ORIGINAL) "30 for 30: Long Gone Summer" (June 14, ESPN+) An official selection at the 2020 Tribeca Film Festival, this documentary from director AJ Schnack chronicles one of the most memorable seasons in baseball history, when Mark McGwire and Sammy Sosa each chased Roger Maris' then-single season record of 61 home runs. Page 8 June 15 - 21, 2020 "Lost Speedways" (Peacock — series premiere, July 15) Creator and host Dale Earnhardt Jr. joins co-host Matthew Dillner to tell the tales and raise awareness of race tracks that have shut down across America and the world. Often, these places were central to a community and embedded in people's lifestyles, now overtaken by nature, abandoned and forgotten. Guest racing legends, including seven-time Cup champion Richard Petty, make appearances throughout the series. InFocus "Greatness Code" (Apple TV+ — series premiere, July 10) Sports docs seem to be on the rise these days and this new seven-episode short-form series hopes to capitalize on that trend as it highlights the untold stories and pivotal career moments of each profiled athlete. Those featured include LeBron James of the NBA, NFL quarterback Tom Brady, soccer star Alex Morgan, world's fastest man Usain Bolt, five-time Olympic champion swimmer Katie Ledecky, surfing champ Kelly Slater and Olympic snowboarder Shaun White.
