OUR CHALLENGES & NEEDS
O
ur Gamma Phi home is the cornerstone of the Psi experience. It is a safe haven for our ac ve sisters, a gathering
place for alumnae, and a home-away-from-home for all. While the house corpora on has worked diligently to
keep our home updated, we know we must do more if Gamma Phi is to remain a top er sorority at OU.
WHAT WE'VE DONE SO FAR
• Remodeled all sleeping rooms and
bathrooms
• Purchased custom-built furniture for the
bedrooms
• Updated common areas with new furniture
and décor
• Built a beau ful new snack kitchen
• Installed new windows and air
condi oning
• Updated wiring and plumbing throughout
WHAT WE NEED NEXT
n SPACE TO GROW
If you've been to the house for a formal mee ng,
ini a on, or on OU game day, you know that we
have more than outgrown the space. Formal meals
are eaten in cycles, chapter requires members to
move all the furniture, and there is li le room for
group study or skit prac ce. We need to create a
space that will accommodate our growing chapter
while crea ng more space for the young women to
be together.
n SAFETY AS A PRIORITY
In the event of severe weather, many of our ac ve
members are forced to sit on the stairway leading
down to the basement. We simply cannot allow our
sisters to be put at risk in this way.
n CONTINUING OUR EXCELLENCE
Our undergraduate sisters have made the most of
what they have, but we know they cannot keep
this up forever. If they are to con nue winning
Homecoming, Scandals, and compe ng at the highest
level of scholarship, they need the space to do this.
The chapter needs these tools to enhance their own
personal scholarship, as well as the overall scholarship
of the chapter. We must create a home that allows
our ac ve membership to learn, develop, and grow as
sisters.
