The
David Novak '74 is the retired co-founder and
chairman and CEO of YUM Brands (Pizza
Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC). Since retirement,
David and his wife, Wendy, created the Lift
a Life Foundation. Through their foundation
they established The Novak Leadership
Institute at Mizzou. The institute features an
innovative approach to leadership education
uniquely rooted in the principles of strategic
communication and advertising. The Novak
Leadership Institute hosted the 2019 Novak
Leadership Speaker Series in October at
Jesse Auditorium. David had a chance to
talk to the chapter before his presentation
for a conversation about trust as essential to
the success of any leader and organization.

Matthew Schelp '92 was confirmed by U.S.
Senate to District Court Judgeship in February
for the Eastern District of Missouri. In addition
to private practice, Matthew had served in the
U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General's Corps
and as an assistant U.S. attorney. Email:

Gregory Mathison '99 is the assistant
superintendent for Parkway School District.
He was named 2019 Missouri High School
Principal of the Year. Greg and his wife, Linda,
reside in Eureka, Mo., with their two children,
