MU NEWS Χ Ω Mu Chapter of Chi Omega at the University of California-Berkeley Spring 2020 SISTERS INSPIRED BY OUR VALUES Membership Grows in Numbers and Personal Development WELCOME HOME, NEW HOOTIES! In January, we initiated our fall 2019 new member class. Soon after, we welcomed 11 more new members into our chapter thanks to the hard work of Recruitment Chairman Sarah Jane Catarozoli '18. New Member Educator Peyton White '19 proudly states that our new members "exemplify the best Chi O can be." We are excited to see how they will grow and add to Mu chapter. SISTERS ON PURPOSE "I can't help noticing all of the incredible things the women do for our chapter, in the Cal Greek community, and on campus! I feel so thankful to call the experiences I have with these strong, intelligent, and adventurous women here," says Peyton. We are delighted to report that the sisters of Mu have been active leaders within our chapter and our campus community. To name a few, President Camellia Edalat '18 and VP of Membership Lauren Kapp '18 serve on the Panhellenic Executive Council, and graduating senior Kailani Marchak '18 is captain of the Cal Rowing Team and co-director of the sports department for CalTV. Director of Career and Personal Development Sofia Sayyah '20 is ensuring her sisters achieve well-rounded success by planning a LinkedIn workshop and future personal development events. LOOKING AHEAD* Mu chapter is excitedly preparing for our annual philanthropy event Kick it With a Chi O, as well as other events benefiting the Make- A-Wish foundation. "Later in the semester we will co-host a barbecue with Chi Psi fraternity, which will include face painting, fun relay races, and barbecue food! Our last event will be a cupcake baking and delivery event with Delta Upsilon during dead week," Philanthropy Chairman Angelina Espinoza '19 reports. We are also looking forward to hosting Eleusinia at the chapter house, organized by Alumnae Relations Chairman Arielle Ghiloni '20. Thank you to our alumnae for your continued support. You are welcome to visit our home anytime; we'd love to have you!
