It takes place the second week of August every year in Kindley Park, and features fun for the whole family. Gravette Day features food, games, vendor booths, a classic car show, parade, pageants, pancake breakfast, live music, a Dutch oven cook-off and more. e theme for Gravette Day 2020 will be "Making Memories" as the town celebrates its 126th event. Gravette Day is not only for residents of the community as it draws in thousands of people from all around the area to join in the celebration. SMoke on tHe BorDer BarBecue cook-off Smoke on the Border Barbecue Cook- off is an event sponsored by the Greater Gravette Chamber of Commerce, and will be entering its third year this year. e increasingly popular event invites teams from Arkansas and its surrounding states to the barbecue cook-off to compete for prize money and, of course, bragging rights. e event includes People's Choice, where visitors can sample each barbecue dish and then vote for their favorite, and the Kid's Que Burger competition where young chefs can try their hand at hamburgers. Whether you want to try your hand at grilling or just want to taste some of the best barbecue across four states, this event promises to be fun for everyone. pop alluM park Gravette's Pop Allum Park is an impressive 22 acres that hosts all of Gravette's local baseball and soccer teams and leagues. e park has seven baseball fields, four soccer fields, a skate park, human foosball court, and adjoins the Gravette Nature Trail. Pop Allum Park is also the site for Gravette's annual Independence Day Celebration that has food trucks, music, and a fireworks show. kinDley park Named aer World War I ace pilot, Field Kindley, Kindley Park is right off of Main Street and rests on 1.5 acres. e park has a tennis court, basketball half-court, gazebo, pavilion, picnic tables, and playground. e focal point of the park is a T-33 aircra that is on loan from the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. e plane was placed in the park as a tribute to Captain Field Kindley, who lost his life in a plane crash aer the war. Kindley Park is also just a short walk from Main Street where there are several local businesses and shops for visitors to explore.
