NURTURE. As we dive into 2020, Alpha Gamma Chapter stays busy. We are very involved within the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences. Brothers are members and officers of Collegiate Farm Bureau, CALS ambassadors, members of Leadership Institute, and officers of Agricultural and Life Sciences Collegiate Council. We are also members of Florida Blue Key, ROTC, Student Government, Duolos Greek Ministry, and Dance Marathon. GROW. During the summer of 2019, brothers traveled on mission trips, studied abroad, and attained internships. Some of those were at the following companies: Syngenta, Helena, Farm Credit, Wayne Farms, Cal-Maine, U.S. Sugar, Advent Health, Conlan Construction, and even Augusta National Golf Club. GIVE. While we do a great deal within the school, Alpha Gamma also enjoys giving back to the community. Last year, we raised over $25,000 for Dance Marathon to benefit the Children's Miracle Hospital. This past fall, we reached our goal of $25,000 for our annual philanthropy, Buck-Off, benefitting the Winn-Dixie Hope Lodge. REPEAT. After being gone for long breaks, it always seems that the brothers come back ready to compete in some way. We won two sorority philanthropy events within one week. We received first place in the ZTA Line dance, and first, second and third place in the Delta Zeta Clay Classic. HARD WORK PAYS OFF Alpha Gamma was also awarded both nationally and within interfraternity council (IFC). National Alpha Gamma Rho awarded us for our alumni engagement, communications, community service, and philanthropic efforts. At Greek Awards, IFC awarded us outstanding community service, outstanding collaboration, and outstanding scholarship. We can thank Dr. Emerson, our academic advisor, and former VNR for Scholarship, Eli McMullen for the scholarship award. Their continuous hard work helped us log thousands of study hours and increase our GPA. On top of that, former Noble Ruler, Case Emerson '15, won the top two individual Greek Awards. The Alpha Gamma chapter takes pride in our involvement, work ethic, and respect. We look forward to continuing these traditions in the future.
