Not Too Early to Submit Recs for Formal Recruitment S orority chapters across the country are already preparing for formal recruitment in August. It is not too early to submit recommendations to any Alpha Chi chapter for a potential new member. For Alpha Nu, recommendations should be submitted online by August 1. The link to the recommendation form is at alphachiomega.org/resource-center/ recommend-a-member. Formal recruitment at Mizzou begins August 15. Bid Day is Saturday, August 22. Chapter members will return to Columbia on August 8 for Polish Week. "My goal as the VP of Recruitment is to provide all members the support and guidance they need to ensure every potential new member who walks through our door sees the genuine, authentic and accepting qualities of each of our sisters," Emiley Zegar '17 said. "I can't wait to showcase our chapter and all that it has to offer this upcoming formal recruitment." A legacy to Alpha Chi Omega is a sister, daughter, granddaughter or great- granddaughter of a member. The Alpha Chi Omega member and her family member define their legacy relationship, e.g., step relations, blended families, etc. Alpha Chi Omega values the relationship between a legacy and an alumna member. Chapters are regularly educated regarding the National legacy policy. Meeting these women is important in maintaining loyalty to our sisters, but ultimately, membership is the decision of both the chapter and the woman going through recruitment. Alpha Chi's legacy policy can be viewed at alphachiomega.org/join-us/prospective- members/legacies. New Vision, Mission and Brand for Alpha Chi I n January, Alpha Chi Omega introduced a refreshed and updated vision, mission and brand to better reflect the current member experience. The refresh remains true to Alpha Chi's brand identity rooted in the strength of Real. Strong. Women. ® and reflects the changing needs of today's women. The new brand will appear on all Alpha Chi materials. Alpha Chi Omega Vision Alpha Chi Omega shapes the future through the powerful, transformative and everlasting connections of real, strong women. Fraternity Mission Statement Through the Real. Strong. Women. ® Experience, Alpha Chi Omega cultivates impactful communities where women are inspired to connect, lead, grow and serve. page 11 | University of Missouri
