Our board, advisors, house mothers, chef, and new collegiate leadership come together and review the past year, evaluate the budget and discuss the all too many requests for the new year. It can be overwhelming when there are so many needs in order to keep 400 girls sharing our space harmoniously. It's also tricky on how to execute these needs in a a limited time frame and, of course, stay in budget. Here is a punch list of what we have accomplished in the past 4 years: Completed 3 sizable renovations including a new patio Hired a professional cleaning service Hired our own chef - Trey Bridgers (other houses are following our model) Replaced the ceiling tiles downstairs Installed a state of the art sound system throughout the downstairs Installed a superior security system to insure the safety of our members Provided sophomore off-campus housing for our members We have been busy and our house is a reflection of that. Our meeting this year was remarkably different. This year our only request… was a new stove and warmer. Some of you may not understand the implications of this. It's like budgeting for a Cadillac and asking for a three speed bicycle. Of course, the obligatory painting has to be done and we have decided to upgrade the suite bathrooms but an oven/warmer request - WISH GRANTED! So what is next you might ask? Sorority houses all around us are being renovated or replaced. Our land footprint may be one of the smallest but there is still space to be had and utilized. We need space for meeting, hanging out or just being together as sisters. PLEASE stay tuned and don't change the channel off of PHI MU……..there is more to come! Yours in Our Bond, Ann Hein DeVoe '81 Alpha Delta House Corporation President alphadeltapreshousecorp@gmail.com W hat brings you joy? For some, it is spending time with loved ones, for others, it is diving into their favorite hobbies. One thing most people can agree on is that giving back to others brings them joy and happiness. "Since you get more joy out of giving joy to others, you should put a good deal of thought into the happiness that you are able to give." – Eleanor Roosevelt As an alumna, there are still many ways in which you can support Alpha Delta Chapter. Serving on the House Corporation or as a recruitment volunteer are just a couple of ways you could make a big impact. Phi Mu helped you in so many ways in college; don't you think it's time to return the favor? The House Corporation continues to pay back our 20 percent residual from the total project costs, but many alumnae have chosen to increase contributions to help us be completely debt free. It is imperative that we look forward to putting our Chapter in the best position possible. That being said, we are asking for you to consider making a contribution to our RETIRE THE DEBT campaign. You can donate to Alpha Delta House Corporation, Phi Mu, University of Mississippi, P.O. Box 1237, Oxford, MS 38655-1237. All the funds raised during this campaign will go toward paying off the renovation debt. The Phi Mu sisterhood is a lifelong bond, and we hope you will pay it forward for our future generations of sisters.
