Cane Hill was the site for the first college in Arkansas that admitted women, and also provided the state's first public school, library, and Sunday school. Although it now mainly consists of rural farmland, it still maintains several landmarks that are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Cane Hill is deep in Arkansas's history and visitors can still visit several standing landmarks today such Pyeatte-Moore Mill, the Blackburn House, and the Anthony R. Carroll Building. In the past six years, Historic Cane Hill has spent millions of dollars preserving and renovating several buildings in Cane Hill to further preserve the town's rich history. e town also features popular events like the Cane Hill Kite Festival and the annual Cane Hill Harvest Festival. CANE HILL FESTIVAL e annual Cane Hill Harvest Festival has something for everyone in the family. It features live music, food, arts and cras, quilt show, tractor, show, petting zoo, and museum displays. Visitors can also watch presentations about how to make lye soap, molasses, and hominy. People are invited to attend the festival and enjoy the "lifestyle of yesterday."
