As quickly as this virus has spread, throughout the world, it is anticipated that at some point we will see cases in our County. While the majority of positive cases do recover, the elderly and those with underlying conditions have a greater risk. "We are working closely with a number of local and state agencies to combat COVID-19" said La Paz County Health Director, Marion Shontz. "These agencies include both La Paz Regional Hospital and Parker Indian Health Services, local physi- cians, law and fi re agencies as well as adopting accepted practices through the Center for Disease Control." Tee off at 9:00am. The event raises funds for the Rose and Gary Fraser memorial Scholarship to offset some of the personal cost for local fi rst responders. There is adequate opportunity for social distancing and we have fewer than 50 players. We considered the CDC's opinion during our last meet- ing and decided to proceed. We considered the advice and experience of combat Veterans who performed disaster planning with a particular emphasis on pandemics. However, we are prepared to postpone this private event if directed by an offi cial representative of our Government. We will notify the community by radio as it is perhaps the most responsive communication platform. Individual players will be notifi ed by either telephone or email. VFW Masters Desert Golf Tournament Town of Quartzsite is asking the community to help them with limiting contact at Town Hall. In doing so, payments for Magistrate and Utilities can be made online, by phone, or at the drop box located in front of Town Hall. However, we do ask that no cash be left in the drop box. Online payments can be made at: https://www.ncourt.com/x-landing/default. aspx?ID=327 or https://www.xpressbillpay.com/#/ Town Manager's Meeting has cancelled till further notice.
