The Ivy 3 GET TO KNOW OLIVIA Hello, my name is Olivia Santelli. I am a Chicago native who calls Michigan her second home during the summer. I study Broadcast Journalism with a minor in Sports Reporting. I am also a member of the Honors College. I currently work for Big Ten Network on Michigan State's campus and love Spartan sports. This semester has brought a lot of value to my membership with Alpha Phi and I cannot wait to see what else my term has to teach me. ALPHA PHI HAPPENINGS Our new E-Board has already planned and executed many events for members and parents. We hosted a Philanthropy Week leading up to our Red Dress Gala and followed by Mom's Day. This is our first time hosting a whole week of philanthropy events and it was a huge success. Last month, we hosted Dad's Day and supported the Spartan hockey team. THANK YOU, ALUMNAE I want to thank our alumnae for their constant support. Without your help none of these events would be possible—Beta Beta Chapter would not be possible. Thank you for all you do to maintain our great sisterhood! AOE, Olivia Santelli '18 Chapter President (773) 426-7337 santell1@msu.edu A WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT A lpha Phi legacies are an important part of our tradition. Many legacies choose to join Alpha Phi and enjoy sharing in the bond of sisterhood with their mothers, stepmothers, grandmothers, great-grandmothers, stepsisters, or sisters. Some legacies may find homes in other chapters but remain an important part of the Alpha Phi family. Alpha Phi respects the tradition of membership. While we do not guarantee membership to any legacy, we are diligent in ensuring that legacies and recommendations are given extra consideration during the recruitment process. To submit a recommendation for formal recruitment, for a legacy or a potential member, please visit Alpha Phi's website below and log in (create an account if you do not currently have one) when prompted to fill out a form. PREFERENCE Any Alpha Phi legacy that accepts Alpha Phi's invitation to a preference party must be placed on the chapter's first bid list. RELEASING A LEGACY A chapter must have the approval of the chapter advisor or her designee to release a legacy. CHAPTER AND ALUMNAE RESPONSIBILITIES Alumnae recommending legacies or potential new members have the following responsibilities: 1. Fill out the Recommendation Form to the best of her ability, providing as much information as possible for the potential new member. 2. Send the chapter the Recommendation Form well in advance of the chapter's recruitment (dates are listed in the Summer Quarterly edition, which can be found in the Members Only section). 3. Support the potential new member throughout the recruitment process. Rachel Allen Whitmore Lake, Mich. Katie Anstey Stevensville, Mich. Alexandra Bergeron Brighton, Mich.
