The
CHAPTER ETERNAL
Ross Stevens '43 passed on to
Chapter Eternal on March 9,
2019. Ross went to Butler for two
years before attending Harvard
and graduating in 1943. He then
joined the U.S. Navy and served
on the USS Atherton in 1944-
46. His ship was responsible for sinking the last
German submarine during WWII. Ross married
his childhood sweetheart, Evelyn, and they
adopted two children, Jaime and William. Ross
spent the majority of his career with Manning's
Inc. where he served as CFO and senior vice
president until his retirement in 1984. After
retiring, Ross and Eve moved to Palm Desert to
enjoy the sunshine. Ross will be missed by his
friends, family, and Beta Zeta brothers.
ALUMNI UPDATE
Robert Reed '54 lives in Crestview, Fla. He
retired in 1986 as a USAF colonel after 30
years of service. He completed 100 missions
and his last flight was on May 25, 1984.
John Newman '69 served four years in the Air
Force and volunteered for 17 years in the E.R.
at Vincent Carmel Hospital. He is still signing
in the Fishers' United Methodist Church. John
is enjoying life in Fishers, Ind.
Christopher Ketcham '09 is the attending
physician at Beacon Medical Group in South
Bend, Ind. He and his wife, Sandra, have three
children all under the age of 5. He finished
his residency at the University of Missouri
and has returned to the Hoosier state, taking a
position in his hometown. Christopher shares,
"Any active brother who is interested in
medicine, please know I am always happy to
chat about getting into medical school." Email:
