March 1 - 7, 2020 WHATS UP! T5 BY MICHELLE ROSE TV Media Pratt's TV return: Movie franchises such as "Guardians of the Galaxy" (2014), "The Lego Movie" and "Jurassic World" (both 2015) have turned Chris Pratt into one of Holly- wood's biggest movie stars. But it looks like the "Parks and Rec- reation" alum may soon be re- turning to his small-screen roots. It was recently announced that Pratt had signed on as both executive producer and lead star of "The Terminal List." The conspiracy thriller is based on Jack Carr's 2018 novel and centers on a Navy SEAL whose entire platoon was am- bushed during a covert mis- sion. Returning home, Reece (Pratt) struggles to make sense of the events while others look to attribute blame, but he soon realizes shadowy forces may be working against him. This could be Pratt's first se- ries-regular TV role since mak- ing the leap to movies. His act- ing resumé includes early TV roles in "Everwood" and "The O.C.," but he's best known for his scene-stealing turn as lov- able man-child Andy Dwyer on the NBC comedy "Parks and Recreation." Pratt's knack for physical comedy, not to mention his deadpan delivery of hilariously absurd lines, resulted in some of the show's most memorable moments. And they're a big reason why the series is fre- quently named one of the top TV comedies of all time. As for "The Terminal List," it's still in development, but things may move quickly given that there's a big, bankable star attached. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the proj- ect is envisioned as a "multi- ple-season effort (and not a closed-ended limited series)" and it's being shopped around to cable networks like FX and big streaming services. HGTV's 'Flipping': If you're a fan of real estate series "Flip or Flop" or co-host Tarek El Moussa, you've probably al- ready marked off March 5 on your calendar — that's the day "Flipping 101 With Tarek El Moussa" premieres on HGTV. Beginning Thursday, each of the 14 weekly episodes will show El Moussa mentoring rookie flippers. The self-made celebrity real estate investor (per his Twitter profile) will guide them through construc- tion delays, foundation and roof issues, and every problem in between as together they set out to turn a risky investment into a real estate windfall. Mind you, not every flipping newbie will take his expert ad- vice. And that's OK with El Moussa, who conceded in an interview with USA Today that "literally half the time they don't listen to me, and it makes for good TV." Will that be the case this week? El Moussa advises a young couple who have bought a Craftsman-style home with- out making a home visit. They're going to have some big decisions to make — garage or party room, traditional or mod- ern — if they want to maximize their return on investment. And who better to counsel them than El Moussa, who has successfully flipped hundreds of homes for a profit, both in real life and in his seven sea- sons on "Flip or Flop." This is El Moussa's first standalone TV project since "Flip or Flop" premiered in 2013 and since his very public divorce from ex-wife Christina Anstead, whose own solo proj- ect, "Christina on The Coast" returned for a second season this January. New realit-E!: Terry Brad- shaw can be proud of his many accomplishments: He was a four-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers; he was inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame in 1989, his first year of eligibility; and he has won three Sports Emmy awards in his long broadcast- ing career, including his cur- rent gig as both co-host and an- alyst on "Fox NFL Sunday." Oh, and he was the Deer in the first season of "The Masked Singer." This summer, Bradshaw will be adding "reality star" to that list. E! has greenlit a new come- dic docuseries titled "The Bradshaw Brunch," which will feature the broadcasting leg- end at home with his family on their Oklahoma ranch. This is how the cable net- work is describing the show: "From real-life hijinks to jug- gling football, fame and farm life, unpredictable hilarity en- sues as Bradshaw and family give viewers a peek into rural living in Oklahoma. Alongside his playful and pranking wife Tammy, entrepreneurial and talented daughters Rachel, Lacey and Erin, and his lovable grandkids, the four-time Super Bowl champion quarterback and true country boy finds his most important job is father to his three kids." And that last bit is an inspir- ing declaration of devotion, given Bradshaw's other inter- ests. These range from gospel singing to breeding champion- ship quarter horses on his 744- acre ranch, which has been on and off the real estate market several times in the past few years (it's currently "on" de- spite its pending reality TV de- but – the listing appears on the Icon Global website). An official premiere date hasn't been announced yet: the season for spring premieres kicks off this week and summer schedules are usually an- nounced in May. But a debut sometime in June, July or Au- gust isn't surprising since the summer months are peak time for reality TV.
