PAGE 2 | CHI OMEGA M any of us consider the friendships made at 310 S. Monroe the most important of our life. Our Chi Omega sisters are there for us through life's ups and downs, helping us be discouraged never. Jami McAnulty Longacre '90 and Weneva Black Edge '91 are no exception to this. "The friendships we created are for life, and I am forever in Chi Omega's debt for giving me my sisters," Jami reflected. Tau Beta is a part of Weneva's core, and her pride in her sisters has grown stronger and deeper over the years. "Living at 310 S. Monroe for three years was collectively one of the most significant experiences I had at OSU." When the friends heard about the Building for Our Next 100 Years at 310 S. Monroe capital campaign, Jami and Weneva immediately wanted to contribute and dedicate the new art room in memory of their sister and good friend, Diane Lissau Davis '92. "The minute I met Diane during recruitment, I knew she was someone special. Her gorgeous eyes and enormous smile were so sincere and we immediately connected, and she later became my Hootie," Jami recalled. She was an artistic genius, with amazing passion and was an inspiration to so many. We love and miss her dearly, and not a day goes by that we don't think of her infectious smile and laugh," Jami added. Diane passed away in November 2018 from a heart attack at the young age of 45. Weneva also recalls meeting Diane during recruitment in 1991, the beginning of a conversation with her that lasted until her passing in 2018. "Diane was an incredibly gifted artist and she used her talents in such a way that one knew they were purely and simply God given. Jami's and my fervent hope is that Diane's spirit will live on in the Chi Omega house through gifting a space to simply create!" Jami and Weneva know their gifts will have a lasting effect on Tau Beta. Weneva understands giving is a personal decision and wants future generations to have a beautiful home away from home. "I don't believe it is a matter of giving substantially; it is a matter of giving wholeheartedly. Small voices can make big beautiful songs. Let's build the biggest and best for Tau Beta of Chi Omega!" "Undoubtedly, I believe that I would not be the person I am today without the influence of Chi Omega and my sisters," stated Jami. "I want other youg women like myself to have the same opportunity and make the same lasting friendships, continuing the amazing Chi Omega legacy." Jami is the president of Longacre Inc., a full-service lobbying, marketing, and consulting firm. She and her husband, John, her date to many Chi Omega parties and formals, have been married almost 25 years. They have a son, Turner, who is a freshman in high school. Jami is a part chair of the Oklahoma City Chi Omega Alumnae Association, and a Tulsa Chi Omega Alumnae Association past community development chair focusing on the Make A Wish fundraising drive. Weneva is a territory manager for Medtronic Neurovascular, mother to 7-year-old legacy Vivian, and wife to Mark Edge, an OU ΣΑΕ. She traveled for Chi Omega out of college and worked at headquarters in Memphis, and today serves on the Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Chi Omega Advisory Board at OU. Through the years Jami and Weneva have kept Chi Omega ever at heart thanks to their Tau Beta friendships and are ensuring the future of Tau Beta with a gift to the capital campaign.
