A New Vision Built on Great Tradition e Campaign for Georgia Alpha W hen we look back at our own Pi Phi experiences, we are reminded how the friendships, leadership and service — even decades ago — helped shape who we are today. Pi Beta Phi and our Georgia Alpha sisters provided a safety net as we navigated our collegiate years and pushed us to pursue the best versions of ourselves. We still remember, as we're sure you do, the great times we had together at the chapter house and the memories we created. Our chapter house at 886 South Milledge Avenue has been a part of Georgia Alpha's 80-year legacy from the start. While our beloved chapter house received two renovations over the last 50 years, Greek life at the University of Georgia has grown exponentially, and our new member classes continue increasing. Georgia Alpha has more than 280 active members today, and we anticipate that number to steadily rise over the next several years. Today's chapter house cannot adequately accommodate our growing New Members. While we continue to recruit and attract some of the top women at the University of Georgia, it's important that we stay on par with the facilities that other sororities are offering. Given these immediate needs, Pi Beta Phi Fraternity Housing Corporation (FHC), a capital campaign committee of eight alumnae that represent each decade and the Georgia Alpha undergraduate members are proud to announce A New Vision Built on Great Tradition – e Campaign for Georgia Alpha. rough careful study, assessment and planning, it was determined that a $4 million renovation, including an addition, to our chapter house was the most cost-effective option to ensure that the facility meets the needs of today's students and will allow us to remain competitive on campus. In the updated chapter house, we will have a modernized facility that will help our chapter maintain a competitive edge on campus while creating a safe home away from home for all — a home that all alumnae can still be proud to call their own. TreanorHL, an architecture firm specializing in Greek housing, has worked closely with FHC with input from AAC, chapter members and alumnae to develop a strategic approach to updating our facility. Campaign planning and fundraising officially began in July 2019. Several alumnae and friends chose to make their commitments this fall totaling more than $360,000 along with a generous gift of $100,000 from the chapter. is gift is in addition to the substantial building fund fee commitment the chapter implemented which each collegiate member will pay annually. is will contribute an anticipated additional $500,000 in support over the next five years. is is a great start, but we still need your help to reach our goal of raising a minimum of $750,000 from just our alumnae. We need each of you to be as committed as the chapter is to the success of our reaching our total goal of $1,300,000. ey are investing in the future of Georgia Alpha. We're asking you to invest and pay it forward as well. is is the time to remember your Georgia Alpha experience. Remember the impact Pi Beta Phi had on you. It's only through the lifelong bonds of the ΠBΦ sisterhood that future generations may share the same experience. We need you now more than ever to help propel Georgia Alpha into the next 80 years at UGA. In the coming weeks, you will receive additional information detailing the project, campaign and ways in which you can help. We will be honored to have you join our growing list of loyal supporters who are providing for future generations, as previous sisters did for all of us. ank you for your loyalty, consideration and support of Georgia Alpha!
