Successful Fall Semester for Mu Chapter
M
u Chapter started the fall semester with a monthlong recruit-
ment process, led by VP Recruitment Amanda Shane '17.
We were thrilled to welcome 24 amazing young women to Mu
Chapter on Bid Day.
Our groovy-themed Bid Day was planned and executed by VP New
Member Educator Grace Godby '17. The house was decorated with
streamers and balloons, and a Kona Ice truck visited to give everyone
a sweet treat. The new members began their new member process with
a special Phi Night every week with icebreakers and activities to get to
know each other and the active sisters. The new member process culmi-
nated with initiation on November 10.
On October 16, Mu Chapter held our fall philanthropy dinner, planned
by VP Philanthropy Jessica Salmi '17. The grilled cheese dinner at the
chapter house benefitted Sharsheret, a Jewish breast cancer organization
that helps women facing breast cancer and their families. We also hosted
a kickball tournament at the local park on October 20. So far, we have
raised over $2,500 for Sharsharet!
Our new executive board was elected at the beginning of October, and we
are so excited to see the fantastic things they do for our chapter.
Mu Chapter is looking forward to our centennial May 2-3. Planning has
already begun, and will include a chapter house and campus tour, a visit
to the University Archives, and a luncheon reunion at the I Hotel. We are
eager to welcome alumnae back to campus to celebrate this very special
occasion.
