62 | Januar y 2020 T H E L A S T W O R D F Telling Fayetteville's Stories BY TONY CHAVONNE F ayetteville's true story isn't found in crime reports or from Raleigh news stations. It is found in the everyday stories of the people who live here. Stories that make you laugh, sometimes cry, but that always touch your heart and make you appreciate the special people and the special place we call home. Keeping you informed is what we do. at's our commitment to you – telling Fayetteville's stories. January begins an exciting new decade and an exciting new start for CityView Magazine, beginning with the fact that, with this edition, ours will be a monthly publication. at will give us the opportunity to keep our content more current for you. We've built a talented team of experienced media professionals who know and love our city. Former Fayetteville Observer columnist Kim Hasty will serve as editor for a team of diverse writers, photographers and graphic artists committed to searching for those compelling stories that keep you informed and engaged on what is happening in our city. We've significantly increased our print quantity, publishing more copies than any other publication in the region and now target-delivering thousands of copies of CityView into key demographics while aggressively growing our subscription base. John Jones, another Fayetteville Observer alum, leads an aggressive sales effort that offers advertisers effective targeted messaging options to reach their audiences. We're engaging with readers and advertisers with a robust social media effort that reaches across all platforms. Other members of the current CityView staff will stay on to round out the team, including photographer Matthew Wonderly and account executive Robin Wiggs. We all share the commitment to tell the positive stories of our community. In many ways, CityView Magazine, like our city, belongs to each of us. We all have an important role in making things better here – our readers and subscribers, our advertisers, our writers and sales team, our printers – all the way to David, the friendly man who delivers your copy of CityView. We encourage you to do your part. Share a story idea, become a subscriber, and tell a friend about the good things happening in Fayetteville. Working together, we can showcase our city – one story at a time. Tony Chavonne and his two young grandsons
